Growing an online community: engagement and interaction for getting your community off the ground

This 1 hour webinar will be relevant to anybody interested in starting up, managing or facilitiating online communities of practice especially during the early development stages.

Special guest speaker, Bettina Boyle, will use the BC HRMA online community as a case to discuss the what, how and why of the various project phases when growing an online community.

Topics such as engagement, purpose, value, strategic integration and the role of key staff members and the community manager will be covered.

Attendees will gain insight into common pitfalls as well as best practices in online community development. They will also learn what questions to consider before starting up.

Bettina is an OD and Online Community professional with a background in international business, technology and adult learning. She has worked with a variety of organizations to integrate online learning, social media and community building to support organizational change, collaboration and ongoing learning.  From Decemeber 2009 to June 2010 she contracted with BC  HRMA to lead the launch and facilitation of their new online community.
